The password is case sensitive. If the password contains upper and lower case lettering, you must enter it just so (i.e. if the password is A2b3C4, you will have to enter just like that). If this is not the problem, you are either entering the wrong NetID or password.
NetID’s cannot be changed. NetID’s are randomly generated.
The activation code can only be used once. If you can't remember your NetID, please go to the NetID maintenance page, http://www.csueastbay.edu/netid, click on "Students", click on "Recover your Lost NetID" follow the instructions to recover your your NetID.
You can recover your NetID and password online. Go to , http://www.csueastbay.edu/netid, follow the steps to "Recover your lost NetID" to obtain your NetID. Once you have your NetID you can go back to the same webpage and choose "Recover your lost NetID password" to reset the password. If you do not know the answers to the Security questions online you will need to go to the Student Information Lobby (SIL) located on the 1st floor of Warren Hall to have it reset. Bring your CSUEB or government photo ID.

If you cannot remember the answers to the security questions please go to the SIL (Student Information Lobby), located on the 1st floor of Warren Hall. SIL staff can change passwords with a picture ID. Concord campus SIL has staff that can also change passwords with a picture ID.
If you cannot come to campus (online only, Moscow program, etc) and cannot remember your answers to the security questions, please complete an "Activation Code Request" form. The Activation Code Request form can be found on-line at http://esweb.csueastbay.edu/forms (under “Records”). This form needs to be signed and faxed. Please fax it to the registration fax number - 510 885-3816. Records staff will forward it to the appropriate person to get the activation code reset. Please indicate on the form, that you need to have your activation code reset.

No. You use the same NetID. You may need to sync your passwords by going to the NetID maintenance page for Faculty/Staff and Library Patrons, click on "Change your NetID password", follow the instructions to change the password, you can change it to the same one, this process will just sync the password for student and Faculty/Staff.
