President's Message

Welcome to California State University, East Bay. Our mission is to provide you with an academically rich, multicultural learning experience that will not only prepare you to realize your goals and pursue meaningful lifework, but also to be a socially responsible contributor to your community - locally and globally.

I encourage you to view this catalog as your guide to the many possibilities and outstanding opportunities that Cal State East Bay offers you for personal, intellectual, and professional growth and achievement. This catalog will also serve as an important reference tool during your university experience and quest to reach your college goals.

As Cal State East Bay moves into its second half-century, we are working diligently and creatively to meet the changing needs of our students and communities with innovative new programs. Among the more than 100 fields of study described in this catalog, you will see many examples of our evolving and dynamic academic offering. This includes our first fully independent doctoral program in educational leadership.

Of course, a catalog such as this cannot fully describe the richness of the Cal State East Bay experience. By participating in student life and governance, as well as the many research, service-learning, volunteerism, and community service opportunities we offer- hallmarks of CSUEB - you will enhance your experience here immeasurably.
