Admission Requirements
Application to the program typically requires a baccalaureate degree in biology or chemistry including completion of the following prerequisites:



Microbiology (with laboratory)


Biochemistry (with laboratory)


Genetics (within the last three years)


Cell or Molecular Biology (within the last three years)

Application materials may be obtained from the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University, Hayward. These materials include: a University application for post-baccalaureate or graduate status, a Departmental application, three letters of reference from individuals knowledgeable about the applicant's abilities and one copy of transcripts (can be unofficial; all are due in the Department by April 1). Successful applicants will be notified by July 1 and will have two weeks to accept the offer of admission.

Succesful applicants who also anticipate applying to the M.S. program should do so at the time of application to BCP. For further information regarding the M.S. program, contact the Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Biological Sciences.
